The bench is the difference. Just like in any sport role players are the most important member on the team. Kobe could score 65 points but other people need to score 40 more points for the time to have a legitimate chance. People like Andrew Bynum, Jordon Farmer, Luke Walton, Trevor Ariza, Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom will decide if the Lakers will win a championship this season.Even if Kobe has a ineffective game, the Lakers still have a good chance to win if the supportive cast comes to play. As seen in game 5 of the western conference finals if Lamar Odom plats well the Lakers are very likely to win the game. In the Lakers supporting cast, they are about 6 players that could score double digits. Lamar Odom can have a double- double on any given night. Derek Fisher, Jordon, Sasha, Andrew, Pau Gasol, Ariza, Luke Walton all can have a double digit scoring nights.
What other team has a better supportive cast than the Lakers, no body else in the league. The Cavs cant compete with the Lakers, they cant even compete with the magic. And the magic are not ready for the Lakers yet. Who is going to guard Kobe on the magic, no one. When the Lakers won three pervious championships they had a solid supporting cast in Fox, Fish, Glen Rice, and Brain Shaw. Kobe can not be a one man team, he needs more support and if he gets it the Lakers will win a Championship this year for sure. As we all are seeing, even with great individual players you still need a team to win a championship. As seen in Game 5 and 6 with the role players playing the way they did it will be nearly impossible to beat the Lakers. People I cant wait for the NBA Finals to begin, this year is our year.
